On April 25th, 2015 a huge earthquake of magnitude 7.8 hit central Nepal which was followed by several powerful aftershocks. The situation of the country became crucial killing more than 8000 people and leaving 17.500 people injured. Considering the need of the victims for sustainable living, we have been contributing on house reconstruction project in Thulo Parsel, Kavre district extensively and in similar projects around.
This project is situated in Thulo Parsel, Kavreplanchowk district in Nepal. It is 40 KM north from Kathmandu. Considering the need of earthquake victims for proper residence, we have been developing new houses for them. Many hands have come together for this purpose. Several volunteers have been involved in the construction projects. 7 houses have been constructed till date and 3 are under construction. Our aim is to build 15 houses.
Your effort in this project revolves around the construction of houses. You will be involved in assisting several tasks like carrying bricks, mixing up the construction materials, chopping the woods, water supply etc. As per your experience or interest, you can also directly get involved in building the walls or any other parts of the houses.
To assist in the construction project, no Specific skills are needed. But for the major construction part, as mentioned in the tasks section, you might have some experience and skills. Since this is construction project, you will have to be physically fit. Most importantly you need to be 18 years or older. We volunteers normally have common traits as given below:
